Live Event: What Makes Buddhism Buddhist?

Buddha peeking through the trees in Japan.

Hosted by Thomas Calobrisi

What Makes Buddhism Buddhist?

What makes something Buddhist? Can flower arranging be Buddhist? What about basketball? In this presentation, we will explore these questions by looking to how Buddhists have incorporated stories from broader Indian and Chinese culture into foundational narratives. By showing how things become Buddhist, we can see with a new perspective what it means to be Buddhist, allowing us to more effectively navigate conversations around authenticity, tradition, and culture in our communities.

This event will be held live via Zoom on April 9th at 2pm PST.

The Zoom link will be emailed out the Wednesday before the Live Event, and then again 15 minutes before the event on that Friday.
